I've always love to draw and create, since about one and a half years old. It was more than just a hobby, it was a way of life. In many ways it still is, almost five decades later. My work focuses around portraiture of many different subjects. The human and animal expressions and personalities are what make the subject matter so intriguing to capture. There are many stories about these figure that can only be seen by an observant, studying, and curious eye.
Most of my work focuses around drawing and either watercolor or colored pencil. Sometimes both will accompany the art, along with a few other mediums. Depends on the mood of the work and subject matter. Drawing is part of my everyday life, whether I'm working for a client or just sketching while watching a baseball game or Netflix. My works has appeared in numerous publications, books, and private commissions. My newest work has revolved around animals and wildlife. My love for animals has led my family to adopt a good number of rescue pets over the years. They brighten our life each and everyday with their unique personalities. If you are interested in a commission of your favorite animal or person, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for taking the time to view my work and site. Sincerely, Harris Hammersmith |
